Finding my Bearings

Other than the ones on my longboard...if I had one...the first couple days were spent walking around my neighborhood with my flat mates and getting to know and familiarize ourselves.

Mt. Fuji.

A couple days after landing in Japan we set off to hike Mt. Fuji. I think it was a 2 hour bus ride to the 3 or 5th station, but it realistically didn't take that long.

Truth be told, the sun-rise the next morning really made up for the hoards of people scrambling up the mountain. A combination of clueless fools walking up in loafers and sandals and decked out professionals ready for the worst. The overnight cabins were incredibly packed, even for Japanese standards and the cabin really felt more like a stable for use to sleep in. More of a business venture than a spiritual journey.

In hined-sight, I think I would have chose another mountain to enjoy the beautiful sun-rise that was by far gorgeous.
